Kangaroo Mother care (or Skin to skin care) is a simple method for caring the newborn infants, where mother uses her own body temperature to keep her infant warm. KMC is particularly useful for nursing low birth weight infants with a body weight at birth below 2500 grams. ( In recent years the weight group below 2000 grams birth weight is given more attention for KMC). KMC provides the basic needs for survival, i.e mother’s warmth, stimulation, breast milk, love and protection.
